A strong start for the ISRM Sri Lanka Chapter

On 8th June 2026, the ISRM Sri Lanka Chapter held its inaugural event in Colombo, “Strategic Risk and Crisis Management and its Implications for Sri Lanka”. The event brought together participants from academia, government, policy institutes and the private sector for a timely and constructive exchange on how strategic risk is evolving in practice.

Kindly hosted by Ashraff Associates and moderated by Dr Amjad Mohamed Saleem F.ISRM, Chair of the ISRM Sri Lanka Chapter, the discussion featured Dr David Rubens, Executive Director of the Institute of Strategic Risk Management (ISRM). He reflected on a global shift away from traditional crisis management towards resilience-based thinking, and what this means for organisations navigating increasingly complex and interconnected environments.

The discussion was marked by the quality and openness of engagement in the room, with perspectives drawn from a wide range of professional and sectoral experience. We extend our sincere thanks to Aman Ashraff, Dr Amjad Mohamed Saleem and all participants for their valuable contributions.

This inaugural event marks an important step in the development of the Chapter. We look forward to building on this momentum and further strengthening collaboration, dialogue and knowledge-sharing across Sri Lanka’s strategic risk community.
