Following the success of the first Dutch-International Resilience Symposium, the 2nd Dutch-International Resilience Symposium (DIRS) continues the conversation on how countries, communities and organisations can learn from each other and strengthen resilience together.
How can countries learn from each other?
How do we turn lessons identified into lessons truly learned?
And what prevents us from transforming today’s roadblocks into tomorrow’s enablers?
These are some of the questions at the heart of this year’s Symposium — a gathering focused on moving beyond short-term responses and exploring how shared experience, collaboration and practical solutions can help address the deeper challenges behind today’s risks.
The challenges facing societies today rarely stop at national borders. From complex crises and conflicts to emerging risks and uncertainty, their causes and consequences are increasingly interconnected. Building resilience therefore requires more than individual efforts. It requires openness, cooperation and a willingness to learn across sectors and borders.
The Symposium will bring together distinguished speakers and resilience professionals from across the world, including representatives from the Netherlands, Japan, Canada, Ukraine, the USA and the Caribbean, alongside hundreds of participants engaged in this important exchange.
More than a one-day event, the DIRS is part of an ongoing international dialogue designed to capture practical recommendations and translate shared insights into real-world projects.
Because while every country faces its own unique challenges, the opportunity to learn from one another remains one of our greatest strengths.
