The second ISRM Indonesia Conference, held in Jakarta on 11th June, offered a clear and consistent message throughout the day: risk no longer sits in separate boxes.
Across discussions, it became evident that today’s challenges rarely appear in isolation. Geopolitical shifts, economic pressure, climate events, workforce strain, supply chain disruption and regulatory change are increasingly interconnected — often unfolding together and amplifying one another.
For leaders, this shift is changing what resilience means in practice. It is no longer only about managing individual risks, but about understanding the broader system: how risks interact, how impacts cascade and how organisations support people through uncertainty as it emerges.
This thinking is closely aligned with Regenerative FM, a point also highlighted by Yohanes Jeffry Johary F.ISRM, ISRM ASEAN Hub President. It reflects a growing recognition that workplaces, facilities and infrastructure are not only operational assets, but also critical to how organisations adapt, absorb disruption and recover over time.
Dr David Rubens, Executive Director of the Institute of Strategic Risk Management (ISRM), played a key role in framing and deepening these discussions in Jakarta, contributing to the ongoing exploration of how risk thinking is evolving in practice.
The day provided valuable shared learning, new perspectives and meaningful connections across the ISRM network and the wider ASEAN risk community.
