Meredydd Hughes F.ISRM Takes the Lead at ISRM Dubai Chapter

We are pleased to welcome Meredydd Hughes CBE QPM MA FIOD F.ISRM as Chair of the ISRM Dubai Chapter.

Over a 30-year career, Meredydd has driven policing, emergency planning and major event security across four of the UK’s largest forces. He served as Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police and Gold Commander for the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games, later taking on national leadership roles for major international events, including the G8 Summit, the Papal Visit to the UK and preparations for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Since leaving UK policing, Med has worked internationally as a strategic consultant, advising on disaster management, counter-terrorism and the protection of public spaces across Europe and beyond.

Awarded the QPM (Queen’s Police Medal) and later the CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) for services to policing, Med has also contributed in academia and governance, including as Associate Professor in Strategic Leadership and as a Chartered Director of the UK Institute of Directors.

We look forward to Meredydd’s leadership and the fresh perspectives he will bring to the ISRM Dubai Chapter.
