Join us in welcoming Martin Fisher F.ISRM as the Chair of the ISRM Hungary Chapter. A British national, Martin brings nearly twenty years of experience in emergency response and preparedness, having worked with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and UN OCHA (United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs). His expertise spans civil-military coordination, access negotiation, strategic planning and humanitarian financing, with a focus on Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East.
Throughout his career, Martin has engaged with a wide range of contexts and challenges in the humanitarian field. Committed to continuous learning, he has completed three-quarters of an Open University MSc in Systems Thinking, undertaken an Oxford University course on Artificial Intelligence and is developing fluency in Russian.
With Hungary now becoming a part of ISRM’s Europe Superhub network, Martin’s leadership will strengthen our presence in Central Europe — a region of strategic importance for risk and crisis management. His expertise and vision will help drive collaboration, knowledge-sharing and growth across the region and the wider ISRM community.
