The ISRM’s North America Hub is pleased to announce Jan Glarum as the new Chair of the ISRM West Coast Chapter!
Jan brings over 40 years of experience in emergency services and crisis management, spanning EMS (Emergency Medical Services), Fire, Law Enforcement, Hospital, Public Health and Emergency Management. He has worked with both civilian and military clients, including deployments supporting Department of Defense initiatives both in the US and abroad. His expertise covers planning, training and operational response at every level—from local to federal.
Jan is a co-author of several widely respected publications, including Biosecurity and Bioterrorism, Hospital Emergency Response Teams, Pandemic Influenza – Community Planning and the Healthcare Disaster Incident Management Operations Guide, which is supported by a train-the-trainer course to help organizations teach HICS (Hospital Incident Command System) and IAP (Instrument Approach Procedure) processes in-house.
As a Department of Defense-validated CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive) subject matter expert, ICS 300-400 instructor and founding member of the Department of Homeland Security, Jan is a passionate advocate for innovation in emergency preparedness. He is also a frequent speaker and educator in the EMS, healthcare and public safety communities.
