First In-Person Level 5 Programme in the Western Balkans

The ISRM Level 5 Award in Corporate Risk & Crisis Management was delivered in Belgrade on 13th – 14th May 2026, followed by an online executive session on 15th May. This was the first in-person delivery of the programme in the Western Balkans.

The programme was delivered by Guy Collyer OBE F.ISRM, Chief Operating Officer of ISRM, with Marija Popadic, Director of Operations, supporting coordination and on-site delivery.

Across the two-day in-person session, participants joined from a range of sectors and organisations, including IKEA, Elektromreža Srbije (Serbian Electricity Transmission System), Phoenix Pharma SE, Mozzart D.O.O and other major corporate organisations, as well as students from the Faculty of Security Studies. The mix of professional and academic backgrounds created a setting where different perspectives on risk and crisis management naturally intersected.

Engagement throughout the programme was consistently strong, with discussions grounded in real organisational experience and decision-making under pressure. Participants actively tested concepts against operational realities and shared practical approaches to risk ownership and crisis response.

The programme also reflected a broader regional reality: demand is increasingly focused on capability-building that can be directly applied within organisations, rather than on conceptual frameworks alone.

We would like to thank the ISRM Southeast Europe Chapter Chair, Dr Zoran Kekovic, the Centre for Risk Analysis and Crisis Management in Belgrade, the Faculty of Security Studies and the Institute for Standardization of Serbia for their support in hosting and organising the programme.

There is already strong interest in further activity in the region, and ISRM will return later this year with a tabletop exercise designed to build on the themes explored during this delivery. Stay in touch with the ISRM by going to www.theisrm.org
