Connecting the Community in London | UK Hub

The ISRM London Forum on 17th March 2026 reinforced something we at the UK Hub believe strongly: in a world of growing complexity, community and conversation matter more than ever.

As UK Hub President, James Sarner, reflected, “our community and the conversations we drive matter more than ever” — and that felt especially true throughout the evening. What made the event so valuable was not just the calibre of the speakers but the range of perspectives they brought to the discussion. Each offered a distinct view on the complexity and uncertainty shaping today’s risk landscape, challenging us to think broader, deeper and more collaboratively.

One message came through clearly: strategic risk is no longer something we can view in isolation. It is dynamic, interconnected, and constantly evolving. Responding to it well means being willing to question assumptions, share insight openly and learn from one another across sectors and disciplines.

At the UK Hub, that is exactly the kind of dialogue we want to keep championing.

A huge thank you to our speakers Tim Skeet, Alistair Sutherland QPM and Keynote – Prof. Salma Abbasi for their thought-provoking contributions, and to our sponsors CIS Security and Bank of China. We are also grateful to Bank of China for hosting and Ashley Watson and Michael Yang who did an outstanding job.

Thank you as well to everyone who joined us and contributed to such an engaging discussion. Events like this show that bringing people together to exchange ideas on navigating an increasingly complex world is not just worthwhile — it is essential.

There are many ways to get involved in the London Chapter, including:

  • Sharing ideas for future events and topics
  • Introducing potential speakers or contributors
  • Helping us secure venues or volunteering to host an event
  • Offering insights, expertise or thought leadership
  • Supporting our outreach as we continue to grow the community

We are also looking for new team members, so if you would like to support or volunteer in helping shape the London community, we would love to hear from you.

Your involvement, whether big or small, makes a meaningful difference and helps the Chapter continue to thrive.

We look forward to continuing the conversation at the next UK Hub gathering.
