The London Forum – Speakers Announcement

The Institute of Strategic Risk Management UK Hub | London Chapter is delighted to announce the distinguished speakers for The London Forum, an in-person event taking place on 17 March 2026 in the City of London, in partnership with CIS Security and Bank of China.

The London Forum will bring together leading voices in strategic risk, security and resilience to share insights and perspectives on the evolving global risk landscape.

The London Forum Speakers:

🎤 Prof. Salma Abbasi PhD, FRGS, FCMI, FRSA – Founder, Chairperson and CEO, eWorldwide Group | Keynote

With over four decades of global experience spanning semiconductor innovation, manufacturing excellence, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and AI strategy, Prof. Salma Abbasi brings a rare combination of technical depth, strategic insight, and governance acumen. Her career reflects a powerful integration of technology, ethics, compliance and sustainability, driving corporate performance that is both profitable and purpose driven. She is a champion for ethical innovation, corporate resilience, and board-level AI and digital literacy, ensuring that technology ‘decisions’ for digital transformation and AI adoption are align with shareholder value, regulatory expectations, and societal trust.

A pioneer in AI strategy, policy and governance, she now works with governments, multinationals, and regulatory bodies to ensure that AI deployment, cybersecurity preparedness and digital transformation enhance business efficiency, stakeholder trust, and social impact. Her holistic approach connects technological innovation with ESG performance, ensuring that sustainability and profitability move in tandem. She brings to any board a strategic and forward-looking perspective, with a proven ability to navigate the intersection of technology, regulation, and corporate purpose.

Prof. Abbasi’s work demonstrates that responsible digital transformation is not just a compliance requirement, it’s a strategic enabler for long-term value creation. She brings to every boardroom a deep understanding of how emerging technologies, data ethics, and sustainability frameworks intersect with risk management, brand integrity, and regulatory alignment. Her leadership is grounded in a holistic understanding of how technology can be responsibly integrated to enhance business value, stakeholder confidence, and long-term sustainability.

🎤 Alistair Sutherland QPM – Client Relationship Director, CIS Security

Alistair’s career in policing spans nearly four decades, with roles across the Metropolitan Police, the City of London Police (CoLP), and the British Transport Police. Starting in 1986, he rose through the ranks, leading crime-fighting efforts in burglary, robbery, and drug supply in West London up to the rank of Inspector. As Chief Inspector, Superintendent and Chief Superintendent, he drove crime reduction in the Lambeth Borough and became a senior public order commander, taking charge of major events across London and assuming command roles at Notting Hill Carnival, Royal Weddings and the London 2012 Olympics. Promoted to Commander in 2014, Alistair led Royalty and Specialist Protection, implementing key operational and policy improvements. His national portfolios have included the lead for the Private Security Industry and Course Director for the national Counter Terrorism Command Course.

In 2016, Alistair joined the CoLP as Assistant Commissioner, overseeing fraud, cybercrime, operations and strategic planning. In 2018 he was awarded the Queens Police Medal for distinguished service to Policing and then from 2021, as Deputy Chief Constable of the British Transport Police, Alistair spearheaded Force Transformation, Cyber and Information Security as SIRO, along with crime performance, Professionalism, Audit and Risk, and he also oversaw the implementation of the recommendations from the Manchester Arena terrorist attack public enquiry. Alistair is the only Chief Police Officer in modern times to have served in all three London forces!

🎤 Tim Skeet– Chief Institutional Relationship Officer, Bank of China

Tim Skeet is the Chief Institutional Relationship Officer of Bank of China, London Branch and a member of the Executive Management Committee. His responsibilities include overseeing the Financial Institutions business and dealing with government relations and public affairs.

Mr Skeet has worked in the City for almost 45 years, specialising mainly in international debt capital markets at leading investment banks. He is currently Master of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers, the City Livery Company, and UK regional Chair of the International Capital Market Association. He sits as an alternate member of the Taskforce for Nature Related Financial Disclosure (TNFD), Co-Chairs the Nature workstream of the City of London UK-China Green Finance Taskforce and is visiting fellow of two UK Business schools.
