It used to be that December was the quiet run down to the end of the year when nothing happened and nobody really did anything. That seems to belong to a simpler and kinder world.
It feel as though the pace of life is only increasing as we get to the end of 2022, and everyone I talk to, when you ask, ‘How is it going?’, has a look on their face of someone who has been stretched beyond endurance – and then realising that they are still not at the finish line.
However, the truth of the matter is that we have all made it – somehow - this far, and I have no doubt that we wil make it over the line into 2023 – and then we will take it from there.
The suns shining outside the window, which always make the world seem a better place (even though it is not what should be happening in the middle of December – but we wil put that aside for the moment).
I think that we all deserve a bit of a break from the pressures of the world, so this week’s Global Crisis Watch will be a general review of the situation, with no particular agenda, but (hopefully), focussing on the ways that things have gone well for us and why we are feeling hopeful for the new year, and the opportunities that 2023 will bring.
I appreciate that really only works until you go outside your front door, and then have to face the realities of the challenges we are facing – but nevertheless, I think we can do with a bit of a virtual group hug.
