This session covers why it is important for security managers and consultants to utilize existing risk management frameworks when approaching the implementation of security risk management within an organization. The session utilizes examples to show how one might approach this task and discusses theories which may impact the success of the security risk management programme if not considered.

Speaker:

Luke began his career in security risk management in 2004 within the training sector, before joining the Police service in the UK in 2006, where he held various posts including investigatory roles and emergency response positions. Luke left the Police service in 2013 to move back into the world of corporate security risk management, forming his own consultancy firm. Since then, Luke has broadened his skills and experience in risk management and organizational resilience, completing a Risk and Resilience focused MBA in 2018. Up until recently Luke was the Head of Security and Resilience for the UK’s largest provider of student accommodation, Unite Students, where he was responsible for the implementation and management of the organization’s risk management framework and resilience systems. Luke now operates his own consultancy, Oakwood Risk and Resilience, providing bespoke operational risk and resilience solutions to businesses, non-governmental organizations and individuals alike.
